Go to Start | All Programs to find the software available on Windows computers. On college-administered computers, including those in Elder and Hering labs, some software is grouped by function. For example, you'll find Eudora, an email program, under Mail and Scheduling. Software used in engineering classes, such as Arena, Maple, Matlab, PS8, Stella, and more, is under Engineering Software. Find Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word under Microsoft Office. Go to Utilities to find the connection to WinaXe (XSession), WinRAR, SecureCRT, and GSview.
ITS offers Virtual Desktop, a web-based system which allows users to access several software applications from virtually any computer with an Internet connection. Some of the software available using Virtual Desktop includes Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, SPSS, Word, Excel, Access, SAS, and several foreign language applications. (Complete list of applications.) You need the Citrix client to connect to Virtual Desktop; that client has been installed on lab and office computers in SC. Read information about Virtual Desktop including troubleshooting tips and FAQ.
