The purpose of this student chapter is to maintain a student chapter of the professional organization - American Society of Mechanical Engineers; to support and aid Mechanical Engineering projects and studies: to acquaint members with new ideas and developments in the mechanical engineering field; to establish activities for the members and the college community to promote better understanding of the mechanical engineering profession; to provide ASME services to undergraduate students enrolled in the mechanical engineering field; and to stimulate interest in mechanical engineering and its related fields.

The ASME chapter is dedicated to serving its members, industry and government by encouraging the development of new technologies and finding solutions to the problems of an increasingly global technological society.

As a Student Section we wish to synergize this with the college experience. Our goal is to instill professionalism through attending Conferences and holding organized meetings, to encourage teamwork and camaraderie with design projects, fund raisers and social outings. We want to keep our strong links with  the Professional branch  through the sponsoring of speeches from local and international Engineers while helping to make aware all the Co-ops, Scholarships and Awards the ASME organization has made available.

Slim Pickens once said, "Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." I suggest you think on down the line and get things moving from the beginning.
