May 2^nd Fundraiser for Virginia Tech Tragedy

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE FUNDRAISER AND HELPED IN THE EFFORT TO SUPPORT THOSE AT VIRGINIA TECH!!!!! PLEASE TAKE A LOOK TO SEE IF YOU WERE A WINNER OF A SILENT AUCTION OR A RAFFLE PRIZE. WITH YOUR HELP WE WERE ABLE TO RAISE NEARLY $1300 WHICH WILL BE DONATED A MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP HONORING THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES AT VIRGINIA TECH.

The University of Iowa, Department of Biomedical Engineering is holding a fundraiser for the victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy which occurred April 16, 2007. We are working with the 40 biomedical engineering departments across the nation to raise money to form a memorial scholarship recognizing the students and faculty members who lost their lives on that tragic day. Many of you may have been affected by this tragedy personally as I know many of us in biomedical engineering lost one of our brightest on that day. We are asking you to show your support for the Virginia Tech community as they will need all that they can in order to begin the healing process. This fundraiser will consist of two parts:

1.) A silent auction that will be held May 2^nd, 2007 in the John Deere Plaza from 8:00am - 4:00pm

2.) Raffles of additional prizes donated from area businesses. Raffle tickets can be purchased from 8:00am -4:00pm in the John Deere Plaza on May 2^nd.

Below is a description of the two parts of the fundraiser. Please take a look and come out and support this great cause.
